The Technical Director of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Henry Brown has turned down a request for Lone Star to participate in a four-team tournament in the land of the world football favorites, Brazil, terming the tournament as “underrating and uncomfortable.”
The failure for Liberian sports to make marked improvement is because the government’s arm responsible for sports is crowded with activities that serve as distractions to its objectives.
Liberia football chief Musa Bility said on Sunday at the Alpha Old-timer sports field that he is confident of being re-elected president of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) over former Liberia’s celebrated football star James Salinsa Debbah who has an ill-mannered record during his hey days on the pitch.
The senior national team of Liberia the Lone Star will face three top clubs on their tour of Brazil in January, 2013, where they will partake in a four-team tournament.
The national soccer team, Lone Star, this time only players who have not played in Europe, will receive their Mauritanian counterparts on December 2, in the first leg of the Orange African Championships.
FC Fassell has accused Liberia football Chief Musa Bility of “stage-managing” the Appeal Committee’s decision which found the club guilty for fielding a Sierra Leonean player, Lansana Sesay, without a “work permit.”
According to him, the Golden Warriors are highly spirited to pull the track and do the damage to the yellow boys.
